Work: Document Managment and Document Site Systems
I've been continuing to move forward on development projects at the office. I now have web-based Document Management and Document Site systems in production to support dissemination of documentation across the company. The Document Site System presents the information to end users. The tree view on the left organizes docs into topics; the frame on the right displays the selected document. (Click on the picture for full size.)
I wrote the demo version of this in November 2004; I finally got the green light to move forward on this last fall.
The Document Management System (DMS) allows content creators to create documents (collections of topics and files) and topics, and to upload files. Content creators can revise their online documents at will without the need for IT intervention. The DMS is currently
set so that users in one department can only see their department's content.
I'll blog some (more, see my prior post) about the PMI app tomorrow
